My favourite places imageMy favourite places imageMy favourite places image
I want you to see and experience my favorite safari and wildlife destinations as well and believe me, you won’t be disappointed.
There are lots of great places but I’ll just mention a few that are close to my heart:
Top of my list is the famous Kruger National Park in South Africa where I still spend many happy hours between the high density of mammals and birds and it is a must see on any visitors list.

Second is a hidden secret, the Okavango delta in Botswana. Not only is it extremely beautiful and peaceful, it is also wild and unspoilt with lots of large animals, especially elephants and hippos.

The Chobe national park in north-eastern Botswana has the best sunsets and also the most elephants in Africa.
In the winter months herds of antelope and buffalos are grazing on the banks of the Chobe River.

Kgalagadi National park is a semi arid area that stretch over 3 countries and has been made famous by the black maned lions and if you love deserts and sunsets this is a must for you.

Between the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe one finds the mighty Zambezi River, a totally wild and unspoilt area. Lots of animals are drawn to the river; one can almost say the animals come look at you!
The Lower Zambezi national park (Zambian side) and Mana pools (Zimbabwean side) are in my book some of the best wildlife and safari destinations in Africa.
Also shared between Zimbabwe and Zambia is the massive 1.7 km wide Victoria Falls (the locals call it Mosi-o-ya-tunya or” the smoke that thunders”) a world heritage site and one of the 7 wonders of the world! - A must see on an African safari.

The country of Namibia is named after the beautiful Namib desert- home to the largest and highest sanddunes in the world at Sossusvlei.
In the north of the country the Etosha national park is another great wildlife park and home to a great variety of plains mammal species that adapted to the harsh semi desert environment.

There are many other spectacular safari places and national parks as well - just to mention a few : Hluhluwe/Umfolozi, iSimangaliso, St Lucia, Mkuze, Ndumo, Itala, Addo Elephant Park etc.
Other famous and exciting places are Table Mountain, the Garden Route national park and Ukuhlamba Drakensberg areas, as well as the Fish river Canyon in Namibia

Read more about these and other fantastic places under the “safari countries & destinations” section of the website.
